NorthShore had it season opener on May 13th, 2011 with the Madison River Foundation 2nd Annual Guide Meeting. NorthShore’s outfitter, Joe Dilschneider, along with NorthShore’s good friend, Mike Lum, manager of Madison River Fishing Company, are both on the Board of Directors of the Foundation. We were grateful for the opportunity to be able to host the Guide Meeting and with the Foundation funding the beer and food, all who attended had a great time!

Joe and Mike discussed what the Foundation is up to and the great things they plan on doing for our beloved river. We had a great group interactive meeting with many people speaking up and talking to each other in a civilized manner and discussing what was important to them as guides and stewards of the river.

After all the business was taken care of, we decided to have a campfire and hang out for one of the nicest days and evenings we’ve had this spring.

I would like to personally thank Joe Dilschneider for giving NorthShore the opportunity to host the 2nd Annual Madison River Foundation Guide Meeting.

River Otters are kind of a novelty for me. I have only seen a few in my whole life. The first couple were on the dock of the Lodge. We woke up one fall frosty morning, and looked out to a steamy lake and there were three river otters playing on the dock. We watch these special animals for a couple minutes before they got bored and started swimming up to the Meadow Creek inlet. Now that was about 10 years ago.

A few days ago as Sam and I were crossing the Gallatin River on a evening fishing trip, we looked up river and to my amaze, two river otters were playing on a rock. We snuck up to get some photos and watch one of the wonderful Montana creatures.

NorthShore IT Guy Vito “The Godfather” Valentenetti, yes that is his real name, was in town for the first time in the summer months of Montana. Which means, we took him on the Madison River for the first time in his life. It was a great team trip.

Shadow casting?

We had a great time teaching Vito how to fish and he loved the Madison River.

To Vito,

You are always welcome and thanks again for all your help. Maybe if you hang out in Montana for some of the summer months rather than just the winter ski season you’d see what fun can be had here in south west Montana.

From your friends at NorthShore!
